Lori Ann Buza, Of Counsel
Ms. Buza began practicing law in 1995 with the law firm of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, PA, in Woodbridge, NJ. While at Wilentz, she gained extensive experience as both general and special construction counsel to several boards of education. In her function as a school board attorney, she developed broad experience in school policy development and implementation, employment negotiations and contracts, public hearings and meetings, construction matters, special education, tenure matters, disciplinary hearings and litigation. Ms. Buza also developed a specialty in both residential and complex commercial real estate cases including the representation of many lending institutions, private entrepreneurs, small businesses and corporations. She was the loan review and closing attorney for several banks and has handled numerous residential and commercial real estate negotiations, contracts and closings. For the past several years, Ms. Buza has served as Of Counsel for the Law Office of Kirsten Scheurer Branigan, P.C.
Ms. Buza has published several articles on Employment, Real Estate and School Law issues and continues to serve in Academia. From 2000 to the present, Ms. Buza has instructed Business Law at Saint Peter's College in Jersey City, NJ; she first served as an Adjunct and now serves as an Assistant Professor. The courses she teaches on a regular basis include: "General Survey of the Law & Contracts," "Business Organizations & Agency," "The Uniform Commercial Code," "Legal and Contemporary Issues," and "Real & Personal Property."
Ms. Buza has also taken on the roles of Advisor of Business Law and Freshman Advisor at Saint Peter's College. She is the Faculty Advisor to the Saint Peter's College Business Law Association and often volunteers as a guest speaker to students on matters including Real Estate, Employment, Public Speaking, Women in the Law, Career Counseling, and Resume Writing.
As an experienced public speaker with a background in martial arts, Ms. Buza also enjoys volunteering in her local community by lecturing on women's safety issues and self defense. She enjoys assisting her local Chapter of the Girl Scouts since 2007, volunteering on behalf of elementary and middle school girls as a Leader for both Brownies and Juniors. Ms. Buza is also a member of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association.
Lori Ann Buza earned her B.A. in Psychology as a Dean's List Graduate in 1992 from Rutgers College and her J.D. as a Dean's List Graduate from Rutgers Law School -Camden in 1995. While attending Rutgers Law School, Ms. Buza interned for The Honorable John Gerry, Chief Judge, Federal District Court, N.J.; and, while at Rutgers College, she worked for the SI District Attorney's Office - Sex Crimes Unit, and interned with the United States Attorney's Office - Narcotics Department in Washington, DC.
