Carole Lynn Nowicki joined the firm as Of Counsel in January 2014 and became a Partner in July 2018.
Ms. Nowicki has been an attorney since 1999. Ms. Nowicki's employment law experience has included claims of wrongful termination, whistleblower claims, harassment and discrimination claims, wage law claims, violations of the Family Medical Leave Act, reviews of separation packages, and independent investigations into employment-related complaints.
She started her career as the law clerk to the Hon. Joseph C. Messina (now retired) in the Chancery Division in Middlesex County. She then worked as a litigation attorney for East Coast powerhouse law firms representing national clients in State and Federal courts across the country. She spent ten years handling complex matters involving employment law, police profiling, commercial disputes, Medicare fraud, insurance fraud, banking and mortgage fraud, consumer fraud, banking collection matters, ERISA, land use appeals, and claims related to white collar crimes. She also assisted corporations in connection with government investigations and responding to Grand Jury Subpoenas, and has experience in both jury and non-jury trials as well as alternate dispute resolution forums. Immediately prior to joining this firm, Ms. Nowicki owned her own business starting in 2010, focusing her efforts in New Jersey mainly handling employment law matters and commercial disputes.
In addition to her legal work, Ms. Nowicki has been a Board Member of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association since 2010. She served as the Co-Director of the Solo/Small Firm Committee, was part of the Executive Committee serving as the Co-Secretary, and is currently serving as the Gala Co-Director. She is also a member of the New Jersey Bar Association.
Ms. Nowicki is a committed supporter of the community as well. For nine years, she served as the Attorney Co-Coach for Villa Walsh Academy (High School) in the Vincent C. Apruzzese Mock Trial Competition run by the New Jersey Bar Foundation. For two years, she served as a Board Member and Trustee of the Save U.S. Pets Foundation. For several years (until her dog retired due to health issues), Ms. Nowicki and her dog made regular therapy visits to a local nursing home and other locations as a Therapy Dog Team certified by The Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs organization.
Ms. Nowicki graduated with Honors, Phi Beta Kappa, from Rutgers University (formerly Douglass College) with a B.A. in English. After working in the corporate world, Ms. Nowicki returned to school and earned a J.D. degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1999.
