AWARDS & CERTIFICATIONS
Kirsten S. Branigan is the founder and owner of The Law Office of Kirsten Scheurer Branigan, P.C., a 100% woman-own employment law firm. Ms. Branigan serves as employment counsel to the McDonald Law Group, a woman-owned law firm committed to the hiring, retention and advancement of women in the law. Throughout her career, Ms. Branigan has litigated employment cases, such as claims of gender/sex discrimination (including, equal pay, “glass/marble” ceiling, “mommy track,” “maternal wall” cases), sexual harassment, pregnancy discrimination, family leave and care-giver responsibilities discrimination. In June 2008, Ms. Branigan completes her two-year term as President of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association (“NJWLA”), an organization whose revitalization in recent years has been attributed to her leadership. Ms. Branigan has led the Association (which was on the brink of disbanding prior to her presidency) to a growing and robust membership. Ms. Branigan was recently bestowed an award created in her name, the KIRSTEN SCHEURER BRANIGAN PRESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP AWARD by the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association in recognition of her dedication to the advancement and retention of women in the legal profession and her efforts in revitalizing the Association.” In April 2008, Ms. Branigan received the esteemed ALICE PAUL EQUALITY AWARD bestowed by the Alice Paul Institute in honor of her work to advance equality for women. In 2006, Ms. Branigan was honored by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism and NJWLA with the PROFESSIONAL LAW LAWYER OF THE YEAR AWARD and became a Founding Partner of the New Jersey Council on Gender Parity in Labor and Education’s Women in Law Project addressing issues relevant to the advancement retention of women in the law. She has also been an active member of the Executive Women of New Jersey Board of Directors. The Law Office of Kirsten Scheurer Branigan, P.C. applied for WBE Certification to become a Woman Business Enterprise and is awaiting for approval pending a site visit.
